Mieczysław Bak works as CEO at the Institute for Private Enterprise and Democracy (IPED), the Think Tank of the Polish Chamber of Commerce. During the last 29 years Mr. Bak’s activities were focused on Corporate Social Responsibility, cooperation between Universities and businesses, advocacy of SMEs, scaling down corruption in business, development of the civic society and SME's development. He assisted regional and national authorities in the elaboration of the SMEs development strategies in the areas of SME financing, development of innovative businesses and SME related services. Mr. Bak works with regional business associations and NGOs, assisting in public policy issues. Improved recommendations were implemented into Polish legislation, including tax laws, labor code, custom laws, business register. Policy reports and issue briefs were used by the Polish Chamber of Commerce and by regional chambers in their advocacy programs. Dr Bak assisted in economic transformation and SMEs development programs. As an instructor, Mr. Bak was executing the training programs for business associations and NGOs in Georgia, Azerbajian, Armenia, Central Asia, Kosova, Russia, Croatia and Poland. Mr. Bak is a graduate of the Warsaw University - Social Science Department and PhD at the Polish Academy of Sciences.
