Maja Piscevic is a Senior Fellow and the head of the Balkans initiative at the Atlantic Council from Washington, prior to which she served as the Vice President for Communications at EWI headquarters in New York. Prior to EWI, Maja served as Executive Director at the American Chamber of Commerce Serbia, Executive Director and President of the Board at Serbian Association of Managers and Senior Business and Legal Specialist for USAID. In 2017, Maja led the formation of the Balkan Dialogues, a program dedicated to convening a series of high-level dialogues between experts and thought leaders from the European Union, United States, Russia, and China, as well as participants representing the Western Balkan states. Maja is the founder of the “SUMMIT 100 Business Leaders of Southeast Europe” initiative and is renowned across the Western Balkans for her commitment to regional integration by enabling an open, constructive, and consequential dialogue among political, business, and NGO leaders in a difficult and fragile post-conflict environment in the Balkans. Maja holds a Law Degree (Juris Doctor) and an Arts Degree from the University of Belgrade. She graduated from the Development, Democracy and Rule of Law Program (CDDRL) at Stanford University, chaired by Professor Frances Fukuyama. Maja is a Member of the Executive Board of the Belgrade Fund for Political Excellence.
